oil window
Unable to check oil because view window appears to be very cloudy, looks like a milky coating on the inside of glass?? New "Streetfighter" less the 500 miles. Anyone else experienced anything similar.
Thanks
T.K.

Gday Tom
I have not experienced this myself - however I have read a few threads with owners experiencing condensation in the viewing window (which would result in the a milky film - oil mixing with water).
Apparently quite normal for a small amount of condensation to find its' way into the oil, particularly if you are live in a wet climate.
Some of the other guys here may be able to confirm the this - otherwise have a chat with your dealer.

Same thing on my bike. 1000mi. Mechanic said there was some slight condensation on the sight glass when he did the oil change. Nothing to worry about...

Thanks for your time. If you are having somewhat the same situation, then how does one accurately check oil level.
Thanks

A mate had a hypermotard that did the same thing. It's not the best way but after the oil warmed up or got hot it disappeared and you could then check the oil through the window.

I,ve had this problem on my streetfighter since I bought it.Its totally white when cold but when it gets hot its ok.Dealer was supposed to have cleared it on first service but they didnt. So I just live with it.If you have a local dealer like mine you tend to live with alot of problems.I,ve done about 3300 miles now and it hasn,t done any harm.

Oil fill site window
Tom
I have a 2010 streetfighter with less than 500 mi. and have the same condensation condition in the site window only when cold.
After the bike warms up and the engine is turned off this condition goes away.
Try this with yours and see if it helps.
All The Best,
Dave

my sf clouded the window all the time,,, riding in wet conditions did not help
but its nothing to worry about,, warm air inside engine on a cold glass will cause this, just like on ya house windows,,
my mechanic heated the glass with a hair dryer and away it went but it returns next time i checked it
