Default 848 or 1198 test rides

Hi all, new to the forum so thought I'd start with a quick intro and onto my question.

Been riding for years, dirt bikes as a kid and into my teens, moved onto a ZZ-r 250 for the road and am currently riding a Triumph 675. Always wanted a Ducati since I was a kid though. Now that I'm all grown up (some would disagree ) I'm looking to make it a reality.

My question may be simple, I'm looking at either the 848 or 1198 and after a quick look through the forum won't ask which is better, no point flogging that horse again, but rather with the demise of Ducati Adelaide is there any where I can get a test ride on both the 848 and 1198. I know Honda World has taken over a bit but they have neither bikes available for test rides. Thanks for any replies.

Hi there and welcome to the Forum.

You don't need to test ride those bikes. The 1198 is a way better bike. The 848 is really just a girls bike. For girls.

The 848 is a brilliant road bike. It has a better power to weight ratio then the 999. The only real downside is that it does not come with a ride height adjuster.

The 1198 is more trouble on the road because it has so much power. If you are not older than 40 and/or a skardy cat you will get into trouble on the 1198 on the street as it will be just too tempting to give it the beans.

I ride my 749 on the road as that is fast enough.

I save my 1198s for the track only.

I need my licence for my job. Hope that helps.

You're in fine form.

A nice 748 1998 model is the way to go.

Wait I have one for sale.

i think the OP is asking for help on where to test ride in Adelaide rather than helping him choose between the 2 bikes guys.
